And who doesn’t want to drive a new car - modern, economical and safe. But more than 70% of our fellow citizens do not even dream about it: incomes are not the same. And here, on the conditional border between the center and the rest of the fatherland, you are especially clearly aware of how much Russia needs a truly popular car - with the smell of fresh paint and a couple of tens of kilometers on the odometer. I’d even venture to fantasize about an affordable price for such a product of the automotive industry - two hundred thousand of our rubles. How far are we from this goal now?
Last year, in Moscow alone, the growth of new cars amounted to almost ten percent. The appetite of the regions was twice as modest, but the all-Russian pace impressed manufacturers so much that they started talking about the prospects of our market all over the world. And this is a step forward against the general background of the braking of the post-Soviet automobile industry. The classics hopelessly outdated by modern European standards are expected to resign, the same fate for Oka - what in return? Regular variations on the theme of “tens” with five-digit price tags? The new VAZ leadership so far “knows the world” … A little time has passed since its arrival - no licenses have been bought, but it seems that there are no clear plans. So what can replace the annual 260, 000 "classics" and 60, 000 "Oka"? Could it happen that instead of VAZ this problem will be solved by other firms. And already decide!
