The procedure, by the way, is free and fast: today you can not submit the remains of real estate now, even numbers and documents to the traffic police - they will still be deregistered. But … what to do with these very remains? We decided to look at the process through the eyes of a civilized burgher: after all, “they” send much more cars to the landfill, and the problem should have ripened earlier than ours. True: in Germany alone, 1.6 million cars are written off every year! The environmentally friendly funeral procedure is prescribed in EU law 2000/53 / EC, in force since July 2002. According to him, the owner of a machine, first registered after this date, should not bother about anything at all: the manufacturer will charge for recycling in specially equipped and certified centers. It is clear, however, that the cost of the procedure is neatly hidden in the price of the car.

Manufacturers would like to minimize these costs, so recently they have undertaken a number of technological innovations that facilitate disassembly and disposal. (By the way, in the near future, the share of units to be processed will reach 95%!) In general, there are fewer non-separable and hard to disassemble joints, more recyclable plastics, etc. The results were not long in coming. Here, for example, are the results of the “waste industry” in the German branch of Ford for 2004: 2.8 million liters of oil, 1.3 million liters of residues from oil and fuel filters, 183 thousand liters of “brakes” were sent for processing, 141 thousand liters of antifreeze and washer, 3 million kg of tires, 833 tons of batteries, 766 tons of glass, 590 tons of plastic bumpers, 254 tons of wood and 4800 kg of styrofoam. Not weak?
Typical disposal procedure:
- inspection
- costing
- issuance of a technological map
- neutralization of pyrotechnic
devices
- discharge of liquids
- dismantling of harmful components
(batteries, halogen bulbs, etc.)
- dismantling of finishing materials
- dismantling the power unit and
transmissions
- pressing
