And designers, creating these contours, tried their best. So there is nothing surprising in the fact that sportbikes enjoy the special love of our customers. Although, frankly, it is difficult to find motorcycles that are less suitable for our realities.
In an effort to bring road bikes closer to race cars, designers make them all the more powerful, lighter, give them sophisticated handling and excellent braking dynamics. Where is the catch? A rigid chassis, the notorious “embryo landing”, a frightening surge of power - these machines are not suitable for long-distance driving and for learning the basics of driving (however, everything is individual here. One of my friends is convinced that for long-distance trips thousands of km there is nothing better than Fireblade, for another liter “Jixer” is an example of gentleness and obedience).

Unlike the creators of Honda, Suzuki engineers have always gravitated toward the design of uncompromising cars, oriented more to the race track than to the conditions of “peaceful” operation. Which, however, does not mean unbridled disposition: the art of "taming the horse stock" in the company Suzuki mastered perfectly. By the way, it was the GSX-R1000 sportbike ($ 19, 150) that motorcycle journalists from around the world, united in the International Bike Of The Year (IBOTY) contest, called the best in 2005. The “smaller” GSX-R600 sportbike ($ 14, 800) after the modernization carried out last fall became similar to the older one not only in appearance but also in technical equipment. Finally, only Suzuki retains in its program a 750 cc - GSX-R750 sport bike ($ 17, 200). The machine combines the compactness of the “six hundred” (its chassis is almost identical to the GSX-R600) and the traction characteristics characteristic of large cubic capacity. Among the technical features inherent in modern brand sportbikes, we note lightweight and heat-resistant valves made of titanium, a proprietary injection system with two throttle valves per cylinder, traction control on a 1000-cc model, the use of a power valve in the exhaust system on all modifications.
