Original developments now appear not in the center of the country, but on its outskirts. In any case, the most interesting exhibit of the exhibition arrived in the capital from Vladivostok. Car "Katana" - a model that fully meets the concepts of integrated tuning. Even with the name, the authors of the project - MaxMotorSport and Box No. 1 firms - got to the point. "Right-handed" "Japanese", who was in a previous life the standard "Toyota-MP2", has turned into a race car of rapid outlines similar to the formidable weapons of Japanese blade masters. Original fiberglass body parts, well-chosen lighting equipment, the rejection of bumpers in the classical sense … All this makes the Katana unlike any serial car and at the same time evokes associations with sportbikes, buggies, and even racing formulas. In addition to appearance, the creators thoroughly shoveled the "materiel". The standard two-liter engine added two hundred cubic meters, received a new turbocharger with a pressure of 1.8 bar (!), An intercooler and a full range of exclusive components in all mechanisms and systems. As a result, the engine “spins” right up to 11, 000 rpm, producing no less than 600 hp. But let's not forget - all these sports cars are designed for different purposes and will attract different customers. Some will be tempted by a handmade “sword”, others will acquire the only one from Sweden in the collection, while others will set records at a quarter mile distance. But are there only many visitors to the exhibition of such wealthy tuning fans?
STagnation at an affordable price
Practical people had nothing to choose from. With the "middle class" we are still tight, not only in the social, but also in a purely automotive sense. A competent refinement of more or less affordable golf-class foreign cars was shown only by the company RT-Tuning, familiar to us from the previous exhibition. Then she distinguished herself with an interesting project of Golf IV with an updated exterior, boosted to 230 hp. engine and, most importantly, air suspension with variable ground clearance. Nowadays, a five-door modification of this model, painted in a “chameleon” and puzzled by the lack of door handles, has attracted attention. Everyone has their own taste and color, but the air suspension installed here is still intriguing. Under the hood of the novelty is a 1.6-liter turbocharged engine with a capacity of about 120 hp. Connoisseurs of the brand, nothing bothers you? Yes, yes, there is no such motor in the lineup of Volkswagen! He owed his appearance to the specialists of the tuning studio: after surgery, the small engine almost equaled the standard two-liter “aspirated” in terms of performance. Moreover, as evidenced by the characteristic, it has even greater elasticity. And in the list of offers RT-Tuning appear units and more serious.
