True, during a body repair, the “second second” does not get into the owner’s pocket as deeply as its more democratic relative - the “iron” costs almost the same, but the bumpers and lighting fixtures “one hundred and fifth” are incomparably more expensive.

Wagon GAZ 310221 based on the "Volga" is not found at every dealer - they are brought to order. From the sedan, the "barn" is distinguished not only by feed, but also by the front end from the previous GAZ 3110 model; however, at the request of the client, the dealer will order a station wagon with a new face from GAZ 31105. Price is negotiable. A comfortable interior ends behind the front seats - instead of a comfortable rear sofa in the station wagon, hard folding chairs. You can, of course, get there, but without chic. Apparently, the main task of GAZ 310221 is to carry cargo. But if necessary, the station wagon will take seven on board. True, seats in the third row are suitable only for children or slender passengers.

The main engine, which is installed on all Volga engines today, is the 2.3-liter ZMZ-4062 with fuel injection and microprocessor ignition. Despite the imminent environmental restrictions, passenger cars from Nizhny are in no hurry to try on neutralizers. Most recently, a GAZ 31105 with a 152-horsepower Chrysler engine appeared on sale. Oddly enough, such a Volga costs about 240 thousand rubles, only 25 thousand more expensive than with the Volga engine. Up to a hundred GAZ 31105-501 accelerates in about 11.2 s, and the "maximum speed" slightly falls short of 180 km / h. Future owners should know that the imported engine pulled along with other original parts - for example, a beam of a different shape, clutch housing, exhaust system (for more details see ЗР, 2005, No. 9).

More recently, in numerous modifications, the Volga was confused. Now there are fewer cars at dealers, and the number of trim levels has decreased. At the time of preparing the material, the cheapest (except for the execution of the “taxi”) were the GAZ 31105 with a central lock that closed all doors and even the trunk, four electric windows, electric mirrors with heating - in February such machines cost an average of 220 thousand rubles.

The same set of devices and in a simple configuration GAZ 3102, for which they ask 260 thousand rubles or more. Only its central lock does not close the trunk - the modernization did not touch the larvae and the locking mechanism. A telescopic antenna has also come from the past - with the GAZ 31105, only a stub on the wing resembles it. But the speakers, according to a long tradition, are installed on all the Volga.

Of the more expensive options - modifications GAZ 31105 and 3102 with air conditioning. Such cars cost 18–20 thousand rubles more (by the way, installing an air conditioner at a dealer will cost one and a half times more). The next level is the “Volga” on alloy wheels, which also raise the cost by 10–12 thousand rubles.

The buyer of the GAZ 310221 station wagon, which is offered for 230 thousand rubles, has nothing to choose from - the equipment is the same, ascetic as well. Of the useful options - only power steering. However, almost any of your desires regarding additional equipment can be satisfied by the dealer. True, his services are more expensive than factory ones.

Recently, the demand for tuning studio services for the “Volgars” has been falling - probably rich fans have already bought goods, and “money” officials prefer foreign cars. But still, tuning sedans occasionally appear in car dealerships, scaring prices. In addition to signaling (in the capital from 4 thousand rubles), anti-corrosion treatment (from 3 thousand), they offer, for example, additional sound insulation (20–30 thousand), a “tightened” interior (9–20 thousand depending on materials and the volume of work), wood-based applications on the instrument panel or door trim (5 thousand), a hatch with a mechanical (6 thousand) and electric (12 thousand rubles) drive. Sometimes the brain is reconfigured to the motor, and the most expensive operation is a heart transplant. For example, a Toyota engine with a proprietary gearbox, along with work, increases the price of a new Volga threefold.

In recent years, the Volga has added to the reliability. Malfunctions do occur, but more often they are not very serious (like most domestic cars), which can wait until the upcoming maintenance.
