At first glance, it’s profitable: the price is half, and depreciation - by a third. Is it really that simple?
FRUIT OF EDUCATION
A reasonable question - why do foreigners themselves do not finish their tires? Everything is very simple - “there” they look at traffic safety in a different way. Take, say, a tread: as it wears out, its possibilities decrease - the shallowed grooves drain less and less water, and worn out lugs lose their former flexibility. Of course, if you move slowly (at least within the framework of Russian rules), then the loss of qualities is not so noticeable. And fans who drive, including on imported highways, should change their tires more often - which they do.
Manufacturing concerns are not standing aside, annually releasing increasingly advanced models to the market. If you believe the advertising, each of them is almost an order of magnitude safer than the previous one. Is it worth it to ride "on the wood" when you deserve the best! Another powerful source of replenishment of the secondary fund is the seasonal change of tires. In Japan, for example, they live terribly closely, and it is not customary to store replaceable footwear under the bed for six months. It is much easier to sell it to the immense northern neighbor, and to buy a new one on the right day.
And since there are plenty of hunters for usable good in the world, buying and selling used tires has turned into an entire industry, having acquired civilized forms.
CUSTOMS GIVES GOOD

Used tires are not just a donut hole, but environmentally hazardous waste. Not surprisingly, the term “old tires” still causes fierce debate. “Greens” offer not to import anything secondhand - they say, why take the risk, since the market is full of new tires. The State Customs Committee professes a more flexible approach, dividing “junk” into scrap and goods “not having lost their consumer properties”. It is this last category that we offer tire commissioners. But before they get to the counter, lots of tires undergo quite serious control - we are talking about the environmental safety of the state! So, the supplier must provide an expert opinion (for example, a USAM consulting center) on the presentation, serviceability and tax value of the goods. Customs also does not work through the sleeves - the next “Methodology for the study of tires and tires for customs purposes” has already been developed! And finally, duty rates (20% of the customs value, but not less than 6.2 euros apiece) do not encourage sellers to bring us an unsuitable product.
Of course, everything is smooth on paper. Some subtlety will sometimes slip through - you won’t catch it. But rather as an exception than a rule, it is now more profitable for the majority to live by the law.
SCIENCE TO TRADE

Our raid on points of sale of used tires confirmed this - both for small and rather large importers, the documents were in order. The exception was tire monitors selling their own waste products - tires, for some reason left by customers. The problem, in our opinion, lies in another - inability (or unwillingness) to properly serve a potential buyer. There are no sincere conversations here - he came, chose, paid and left. Moreover, you can take advantage of tire fitting, but in any case, the guarantee does not extend beyond the gate. The logic is clear: advising, the seller, as it were, took upon himself part of the responsibility. And so - he is to blame! Tires are released most often in sets of four, less often in pairs. Loners are a big deficit. You leave the establishment with relief - as if you had torn off the hosts from some more important activities with an unexpected visit, but now everything is behind.

But, as it turned out, there are exceptions. The huge hangar in the north-west of Moscow hit with a wealth of assortment. To all running sizes, from 13 to 22 inches, but in one place - this is rarely seen in supermarkets. Everything is sorted, laid out on shelves and on shelves - go, choose! You can order an escort in the person of a sales consultant, rummage through catalogs with recommendations from all well-known manufacturers. The product is mainly from Germany and Japan. In addition to the usual consumer goods, there are instances new delivered to Russia only by order. The kit that appeals to the customer is immediately subjected to control - a special machine with faceplates allows you to check the geometry and tightness of tires without mounting on a disk. A suitable product is marked with a marker on the tread (in order to find out if the wheel went) and give an unlimited guarantee until the first installation. If the customer is in a car, you can change your shoes right away, thus using up the warranty period. In parting, just in case, you will be reminded that the purchased product was in use and now does not have to comply with GOST.
RIGHT TO CHOOSE

I’m afraid that we didn’t find a definite answer to the question whether to take it or not. In favor of the purchase, its European quality speaks - even used samples sometimes surpass the latest products of native factories. At the same time, sellers guarantee only the absence of obvious defects - the hidden buyer is forced to accept at his own expense.
