Americans will be offered five basic configuration options, including sports and hybrid versions. The base has seven airbags, including knee airbags for the driver, as well as disc brakes on all wheels - it is unlikely that anyone will put drums specifically for Russia. Yes, and pillows on our machines, most likely, will also be plenty.
What else needs to cross the ocean? Tire pressure monitoring system. Still … I do not think that as a standard option, but among the options there will certainly be a keyless start - a button. As well as automatic door unlocking, separate climate control and stabilization system. Of course, the steering wheel with two adjustments will be listed in the main list - by tilt angle and reach.
The list of usual additional equipment (leather interior, electric sunroof, etc.) is traditional. Among the things that are not obvious, it is worth mentioning the cabin filter with an air ionizer that destroys bacteria. The organizers of the presentation did not fail to notice that long trips to Camry could be good for health … The audience boomed approvingly.


Among the equipment options, the sports version of the SE and the hybrid stand out. The athlete differs from the rest in appearance, interior, even body structure - additional stretch marks are installed at the back. Add to this 10 mm shortened springs, altered stabilizer characteristics, stiffer shock absorbers.


Hybrid Camry carries a combined power plant built on a 2.4 liter gasoline engine. In terms of equipment, the car is close to the most complete version of XLE, in terms of acceleration dynamics in short sections it approaches a 3.5 liter engine, in fuel consumption - in compact class cars (the greatest efficiency is achieved in the urban cycle).
GENERATION SIX

Of course, the taste and color … you know. Personally, the sixth generation car seemed to me much more interesting than its predecessor from the outside, but not too expressive inside. Solidity as if increased. For a mid-size sedan (as Camry is classified in the US market), it matters. By our standards, a car is at least a business class. Here, respectability is all the more conducive to sales. In turn, the engineers say that they improved the car in all aspects, not limited to the exterior.
For greater comfort and at the same time better handling, the wheels are spaced apart in the corners (the base has increased, the length has not changed much), and the steering has become more acute (3.2 steering wheel turns).
Almost everything has been changed in the suspension: shock absorbers, springs, stabilizers. The lower levers became longer, which had a positive effect on the behavior of the car in the corners and made it possible to better keep the trajectory on a bad road. The brakes are much more powerful now.
The designers paid attention to the aerodynamics of the bottom, used several additional shields, which allowed to reduce noise and get a very decent drag coefficient Cx = 0.28.
Inside, there are seats with improved protection in a side collision, a new luminescent instrument cluster (dark before turning on), a multifunction display on the center console. Compared to its predecessor, the legroom for the rear passengers has been increased.

Engine drivers were not sitting idle either. At the 2.4-liter engine, the combustion chamber was modified, the intake and exhaust tracts were reworked, and the compression ratio was slightly increased. The “top” engine in the range now has a volume of 3.5 liters (today the most powerful unit in the Russian market is 3.0 liters, in the US - 3.3 liters). For Russian buyers, this means an increase in power of almost 90 hp. Finally, the 2.4 liter engine, which is part of the hybrid installation, operates according to the Atkinson cycle (one of the ways to organize gas exchange with the so-called internal cooling). Along with the manual, there are options with a five- or six-speed automatic.
