The first generation of “Yaris” spent six years on the assembly line and is still in good demand: behind it is a quarter of the total Toyota market in Europe. The new generation may be waiting for even greater success. At least the company expects to sell 10% more than its predecessor - up to 250, 000 units.
The second Yaris has become larger - it has grown 110 mm in length, 35 mm in width and 30 mm in height. Five adults can comfortably fit in the car, and the passenger sitting in the back in the middle will appreciate that there is no familiar tunnel on the floor. The rear seats, thanks to the Easy Flat system, fold easily, forming a flat platform for luggage.
For a compact class, the Yaris is equipped with a very rich. For example, a button instead of the ignition key, an audio system with the ability to play MP3 and WMA files. And, of course, passive safety equipment with ABS, an electronic brake force distribution system and braking. As for active safety, a pillow to protect the driver’s knees will debut at Yaris. By the way, just the other day “zinger” received the highest rating of five stars in the EuroNCAP crash tests.
Three new engines were prepared for Yaris: gasoline 1.0; 1.3 liters (69, 87 hp) and diesel 1.4 liters (90 hp). It is on the diesel that is popular in Europe that the main bet has been made: acceleration to 100 km / h takes 10.7 s, while the fuel consumption is on average only 4.5 liters! All motors can optionally be aggregated with a manual transmission with automatic clutch "Multi Mood Manual."
