In the field of passive safety, there are also new items. Firstly, a pair of knee pads. Secondly, the WIL system (Whiplash Injury Lessen-ing) for mitigating the effects of a rear impact (it does not bring the headrest closer to the back of the head, like most car manufacturers, but, on the contrary, fails the lower back). Thirdly, the front passenger airbag has become double and resembles … better look at the picture. Thanks to this feature, she perfectly “catches” the passenger’s head even with an oblique impact.
A hundred kilometers is a sprint race by Russian standards. Especially if it takes three hours with a photo shoot. Faster to the mountains, meet the dawn. Unlike the diesel counterpart, the gasoline Lexus IS 250 impresses not so much with the noticeable acceleration speed, but with its smoothness.

All that remains are the useful functions of turning on the lower gear before overtaking and engine braking on long descents. By the way, Lexus claims for the “automatic” shorter acceleration time to 100 km / h and even lower fuel consumption than for a car with a manual gearbox. How to believe in it?
With a calm but fast movement, even on mountain streamers, it is possible to keep the flow rate within 10 l / 100 km. On a flat highway, limiting itself to 130 km / h, you can count on eight.

In Russia, sales of the Lexus-IS250 began on November 25, 2005. Domestic buyers are available only rear-wheel drive gasoline version with automatic transmission. Neither a diesel from Europe, nor an all-wheel drive transmission, nor a six-speed “mechanics”, nor a 3.5-liter 306-horsepower engine from America will be officially delivered here - this is the decision of the manufacturer itself.
