In winter and spring, there was practically no increase in prices for cars from Tolyatti, but since mid-summer, each month, retail prices for Lada cars have risen by an average of 0.9–1%. And in July, the “frets” went up by as much as 3.3%! By the fall, it is not that growth has stopped, but its pace has become a bit more moderate. The most expensive was still the Samara family - only in September by 1.5% (average price - 208 thousand rubles). The "classic" models have risen in price by 0.9% - up to 138 thousand rubles. Least of all inflation affected the “tens”. Their retail price for the month increased by only 0.4%, and the price at dealers on average is 238 thousand rubles. As a result, at the beginning of October, approximately 196 thousand ($ 6, 900) were asked for the "average" Lada.
Recall that from September 1, AvtoVAZ introduced changes in the recommended retail prices for its dealers. The plant recommended selling “classics” and “Samaras” 1.0–1.5 thousand rubles more expensive, and “old” Niva cars for 2-3 thousand. For cars of the "tenth" family, everything remained at the same level - from 229.8 thousand to 257.1 thousand rubles, depending on the configuration, but cars of the new Kalina family are advised to sell more expensive (224.2 thousand rubles.) However, you cannot find and buy them cheaper in Russia. In Tolyatti itself, Kalina can be bought for 250–260 thousand rubles without recording or prepayment - the color “which one will be thrown out”. Despite the fact that the volume of production of VAZ-2118 in September was three times higher than the level of August, Kalina stubbornly does not want to get cheaper.
In general, by autumn, the demand for all models from Togliatti unexpectedly exceeded the supply for manufacturers themselves. We just managed to announce the reduction of production plans at the beginning of summer, when again additional work shifts should be introduced on Saturdays. In June, about 55 thousand cars were sold on the domestic market, in July - 58 thousand, and in August a record was set at 60 thousand (with an average monthly sales volume of 52.1 thousand cars in 2004). For three months now, AvtoVAZ has been working beyond the plan, but it has not yet been able to “catch up with the market” - in October, Saturday days again became workers for the VAZ conveyor! And what - you need to use the moment. All this, of course, affects the price.
The launch of Spectra at IzhAvto not only forced the owners of the plant to abandon the IZh brand models, but also briefly slowed down the production of cars with the VAZ logo. As a result, dealers faced a deficit of “fours” and “sixes”. Stocks of discontinued Izh 2717 heels quickly sold out, and so far only VIS cars are offered in this segment. True, Izhevsk citizens promise to launch a new Izh 2717 5 van in a series in the near future (it was made on the basis of the VAZ 2104 station wagon).
There was a lull on this market in early autumn. To buy the popular “Ford Focus 2”, you have to wait an average of four months (in September recorded for January-February), Renault Logan in the required configuration - two months. We note along the way that the plant in Vsevolozhsk began producing diesel “tricks” of 1.8 TDCi (115 hp): prices start at $ 15, 670 (Comfort 3-door hatchback). In any case, this is the most advantageous offer in our market.
