Apparently, the engineers from Bottrop really were about to launch the tuning Mercedes-Benz CLS into orbit. Look, acceleration to 100 km / h takes only 4 seconds with Rocket, which is wonderful, but not supernatural. A tuning car reaches 200 km / h in 10.5 s - this is already quite good. And it continues to accelerate without slowing down. 29.5 s after the start, he can already develop 300 km / h, but the maximum speed of this device is 350 km / h, despite the fact that it (attention) is limited … by electronics. Isn't it a rocket ?!
In order for the car, unique on all sides, to reach such a speed, aerodynamics specialists worked with it for a long time, for a long time settling the CLS in the pipe. The car body did not require changes, because they had already seriously worked with him in Stuttgart. But the bumpers and door sills had to be replaced. And this is only one of the components of success. The second and most important is the engine: equipped with two V12 turbochargers with a peak power of 730 hp. at 5100 rpm Motorists Brabus made it from the base 6-liter capacity of 500 hp, which Mercedes-Benz puts on the top versions of the S and SL. The volume was increased to 6233 cc, the piston group and the control program were changed. Then they installed large turbines with intercoolers. The exhaust system also had to be redone - now here is a tuned exhaust path made of stainless steel.
Again, a typical example. At the stand, this monster showed a maximum torque of 1320 N.m. For an untrained driver, a car with such a motor is simply dangerous. So they decided to consider the indicator redundant and again called for help from the electronics, leaving only 1100 N.m. Which, however, is also not weak and allows you to use a coupe as a tractor.
The highest quality of performance is evidenced even by the fact that Brabus gives a guarantee for this engine, equal to 100, 000 kilometers or three years of service. Practice in the world of tuning is unprecedented.
