Options for complete sets at Moscow dealers do not shine with variety. In Avtomir, where we bought a car, there were no power windows or a trip computer in the options. The choice is perhaps the body color. Electric mirrors and central locking of doors and trunk against this background - royal luxury.
Here, in "Autoworld", you can order the installation of engine crankcase protection and additional anti-corrosion treatment of the body. By the way, they undertake to do it even without dismantling the wing flaps (!), Which is $ 20 cheaper.
The exhibition hall is a multi-tiered parking lot with dull-light duty lighting: if there is a scratch on the body, it is almost impossible to make out. And if so, then it is not necessary to eliminate defects.

Fortunately, the car that attracted us looks as if not bad. There are no scratches, dents, skewed panels - you can take it. Just in case, check with the manager for a complete set. He sincerely assures that the Volga, as ordered, with a neutralizer and all additional work performed in the best way. However, for some reason, the front seat belts did not fasten, and as soon as a dozen meters were driven, something rattled under the car.
The manager, habitual, apparently, to such surprises, without showing even a shadow of awkwardness, returns the car to the repair room. The mechanic quickly replaced the belt locks, and when he found out about the crankcase protection that his colleagues installed, he easily calculated the source of the rattle.
While he was pushing the “armor plate”, they decided to inquire about what was there below. Alas, they did not discover anything new for themselves. I couldn’t even admire the catalyst - it didn’t turn out … Despite the fact that this option was specifically discussed! Wait until the “Volga” with Euro II finally appears, once - we take what it is.

At a car dealership, they use such a service as “pulling the undercarriage” - in fact, post-conveyor bringing the car to acceptable conditions. On our spring nuts of the stepladders “pulled” (three to four turns), oil oozed out from under the gearbox cover (it stopped after tightening). They pulled up the fasteners of the pendulum arm, steering gear, and upper suspension arms.

List all the deficiencies for a long time. In addition, other motorists find a kind of pleasure in the repair of a new car. Something also went to us - no matter how hard the seller tried, but the company failed to achieve the state of "sat down and drove off". The non-return valve does not hold pressure in the fuel pump, mirrors shake, the gas cable sticks, the lumbar support of the driver's seat does not move, the tachometer needle dances along the dial, the left side of the instrument panel is not lit. Neither the plant nor its dealers are still bothering to fine-tune Volga to commodity condition. The law of the market works here too - until a semi-finished product is taken for this price, the manufacturer will not invest in quality, thereby reducing momentary profits. Moreover, he will try to raise the price as much as possible, once again reminding us of patriotism, and will not work - he will pat about the increase in duties on real cars.
WHY I BOUGHT "VOLGA"
Alexander N., 45 years old, driver, lives in the suburbs
Whatever the “Volga haters” say, the Volga is a solid car. Large, spacious, with a huge trunk, even if the spare wheel eats up a considerable part of it. Goes softly, does not rattle on the comb, like the "Lada". A solid body, I hope, will last a long time, and God forbid an accident - it will give some chances to survive. The machine is relatively easy to repair, high-torque and dynamic, easily pulls a trailer. The pivot suspension is finally a thing of the past, and the front axle no longer requires such attention as before. In addition, power steering! Of course, he eats more gasoline, but I will somehow solve this problem.
Another is the price: the VAZ “ten” is more expensive and less. Let the youth ride it, and a mature man needs a Volga!
WHY I DID NOT PURCHASE “VOLGA”
Vladimir P., 30 years old, engineer, lives in Moscow
The Volga is not for me. Too big and gluttonous, driving around Moscow is uncomfortable and parking is not so easy. In management, the roll, “smeared out”, is more suitable for a leisurely pensioner. I do not like the ergonomics of the workplace - it is inconvenient while driving. Sitting in the car, you need to bend down, otherwise you touch the doorway. Not satisfied with the quality - such a machine should be assembled better. Good 15 '' tires are very expensive. I would probably prefer the last ten or Nexia. Let them be smaller, but much more rational, and the latter is also done as it should.
