It is also embarrassing that washing nozzles in the service books of VAZ cars is not even mentioned. Is it really indifferent to this problem in Togliatti?

So the client is rushing around: one is written on the bank of flushing liquid, the sales manager says something else, and the service is bending its line, obviously trying to “make money” for another simpleton.

What does our practice show? Among cars with mileage of less than 50 thousand km - not a single one was caught, even with a hint that it was time to clean the nozzles. But with the more battered, this sometimes happens.

The first sign of the need for flushing is the unstable engine idling, which cannot be eliminated by the usual measures and diagnostic methods, by checking all sensors, regulators, and components of the ignition system. Do not forget about the compression in the cylinders, the possible suction of air in them, etc. It happens, we check the valve timing. But we do not do too much. Only that allows you to establish that it is the nozzle that lies, and not something else. We start by checking the fuel pressure and the “balance” of the injectors. When the injector opens at a certain frequency by the command of the diagnostic tool, the fuel pressure in the ramp drops per second from 2.8 to 2.5–2.6 kgf / cm2. If the pressure changes little, the nozzle is dirty. But it happens that it quickly drops even after a close command. So, the nozzle is leaking - only change this.

Foreign companies offer excellent flushing plants, but it is too expensive. We use our homegrown. Everything is simple: a container with a solvent, on top - a pressure regulator, to which we connect an air line using a bayonet. Bottom - pressure gauge and valve for supplying solvent to the system.

We work like this. The solvent enters the supply line under pressure. (The main pump of the car and the "return" line are turned off.) For a full flush of VAZ injectors, one liter is enough. This liquid and its combustion products are toxic, therefore, the room for such work should be equipped with a powerful exhaust hood - we have an order with this. An alternative is the open space outside the gate.

Before washing, install "consumable" candles, which will not be a pity to throw them out later. Aggressive solvent will kill anyone - it makes no sense to try new ones on it! The engine should idle for about 15 minutes, and it does not behave like on gasoline - it often “pounds” it so that the throttle must be kept ajar, having fixed with some kind of emphasis. Then, for about 30 minutes, we let the engine turn off “sour”, and then start it again, occasionally progazyvaya to better clean both the valve and the ring (often after this the compression on the cylinders is leveled off). Finally, all solvent has been consumed. We change candles and oil - the solvent spoils it.

Like a person after an operation, a flushed engine does not immediately return to normal: traces of solvent will completely evaporate no earlier than a week later. Then you can objectively judge the results, adjust toxicity. We explain this to each client, otherwise discontent cannot be avoided.

Other technologies? The most effective is ultrasound. But the price of pleasure is impressive. It justifies itself in relation to expensive foreign cars, where only the dismantling of the injectors stands as a repair of the Samara engine. And with advertised "simple" technologies it is better not to get involved. Of course, this attracts: I bought a magic remedy, splashed into the tank, started the engine, let's go! But how far? Dirt washed off the walls of the tank, highways, etc., will go straight to the nozzles, clog their filter nets - and the end.
