The main supplier of diesel engines for MAZ is the Yaroslavl Motor Plant. MAZ-530905 is designed to work as part of a road train with a gross weight of up to 41.5 tons. In addition, the car is focused on the Russian market, so we stopped at the 330-horsepower "eight" YaMZ-238DE2 with a turbocharger and intercooler.
All-wheel drive transmission is complex and cumbersome. To reduce the cost of the machine tried to use serial, debugged units. Clutch - single-plate, diaphragm, draw-type, with hydraulic drive and pneumatic booster.
The gearbox is also Yaroslavl - nine-speed, with a planetary demultiplier (5x2) of the YaMZ-239 model. The new transfer case is unified with triaxles: the highest stage - 0.98, the lowest - 1.6. The center differential is a lockable, asymmetrical in favor of the rear axle, which gets a quarter more torque.
Axles with planetary gear hubs for all-terrain vehicles are especially good - the compact main gear case does not scrape the ground in a rut, and the axle shafts are less loaded with torque. Cross-axle differentials are also locked, the drive is electropneumatic.
Compared with the previous MAZ-5316, the new car, thanks to the reinforced frame and suspension, has a carrying capacity per ton more. Suspension, of course, spring. New was the anti-roll bar on both axles.
The brake system has a lot of imported components. The brakes themselves are drum, albeit with ABS. Imported Michelin tires of 14.00x20 with adjustable pressure are put on the MAZ all-terrain vehicle, but there is a modification of the size 12.00x20 traditional for MAZ. Then on the rear axle put twin wheels.
