How and why, in fact, does the kenaf get into the Mondeo? From the forest, of course. True, specially planted by the peasants of Bangladesh. They split kenaf trunks into fibers and pressed into bales weighing 140 kg. Further, their path lies in Rotterdam, then by truck to the factory of the company Fander Izowood (Funder Isowood) in German Rudolfstadt. Here, in special machines, a web is formed, the core of which consists of 50% kenaf and 50% polypropylene. The outer layers are purely synthetic: 70% polypropylene and 30% polyester. Then the semi-finished product goes to the enterprises of the Visteon company, where in molds at a temperature of 200 ° C it finally turns into the inner panel of the Mondeo door. The total thickness is only 2.5 mm, while the kenaf fibers are protected from moisture by the outer synthetic layers.
