Externally, “Junior” is a spilled “Pajero” of the late 1990s, only half as much. This was produced from 1995 to 2002. only with a three-door body and gasoline engine - single-shaft, but 16-valve. Transmissions - mechanical or (more often) three-stage hydromechanical “automatic machine”. Formally, the car is a four-seater, it is really convenient only for two, and even then not very large. The rear seats can be called children’s: the sofa is 90 cm wide, and with the front seats moved away, there is almost no legroom. At the same time, sitting behind the wheel, one is involuntarily surprised: the narrow interior - 1100 mm from the armrest to the armrest of the front doors - is not so cramped. Adjustments of the front seats are quite enough for a person with a height of 180 cm, however, slender.
The Junior is equipped with a Japanese minimum. A set of electrical amenities (glass, mirrors, a central lock controlled by a button on the key), as well as power steering, air conditioning, driver airbag and ABS are standard equipment. For a car of this class is quite enough.
Riding a short, brisk car with visibility like from an aquarium is a pleasure to drive a car. Despite the small engine size, the city of “Junior” is quite dynamic, and the most popular version of the ZR-II (with “automatic”) also allows you not to worry about shifting gears.
Despite its miniature size, the Junior is a true all-terrain vehicle: ground clearance - 205 mm, wheels - 15-inch, all-wheel drive and a reduced gearbox range - all just like in adults. "Junior" easily climbs up the slides and crawls along the snowy virgin land, where an ordinary car passes.
