In the "five" the doors do not close well, in the "six" - terribly. They could not shut the front passenger on the VAZ 2106 without preliminary training. Adjusting the locks will correct the situation, but they obviously decided to assign this responsibility to the future owner. And as soon as he finishes with the doors, he will take care of the washer nozzles - the trickles miraculously miss the glass.

The "six" does not shine the leftmost headlight - it simply does not have a light bulb. Decent answer of the "five" - one of the rear position lamps does not light. But the head light of the VAZ 2105 3 headlamp is clearly better. From the little round eyes of the "six" a little sense. Therefore, many owners travel with long distance, walking in violation of the Rules. In addition, cracks appear on the glass if splashes get on them. It is difficult to change a blown bulb on a new VAZ 2106 - the screws fixing the optics soured. For the same reason, it is not possible to correctly adjust the headlights - then you have to buy new lighting equipment.

The weak point of the “six” is the fuse box. After a couple of years, the electrical circuits spontaneously open when the contact between the cylindrical fusible inserts and the holding plates disappears. Cars with "square" headlights got rid of this problem - a few years ago the plant began installing mounting blocks with reliable knife fuses. What was my surprise when in the new VAZ 2105 3 I discovered an old "black box"! I wonder why there was a substitution?

The "six" has a position where you can open the trunk without a key - just click on the larva. True, to warm such a castle in the cold is more difficult than the “five” one.

It’s unusual to change from row to row without the right mirror - on the “six” you have to constantly turn your head, and you risk missing something interesting ahead. Yes, and the little left is better not to trust completely, relying on peripheral vision. The assortment of non-standard mirrors for the VAZ 2106 on the shelves of spare parts stores evokes sadness.

Good “stoves”, hot! Just which air supply scheme is worse - two rotary deflectors in the VAZ 2106 or a slightly more extensive VAZ 2105 3 system? It was not easy to adjust one without some skill, and the other turned out to be too difficult to manufacture - they could not normally fit tubes with deflectors on our "five" in Togliatti. For rent, this is not the only case. The heater fan on the “six” behaved mysteriously, it worked only at the entrance to the editorial office.

Evaluate the design of the dashboards is not worth it - it matches the appearance. But what consumers are likely to pay attention to is the size of the glove compartments. At the "six" there fits a large bottle of soda, or even a few; the VAZ 2105 3 storage box is much more modest. But in the other corner of the “fifth” panel you will find the headlight adjustment knob. Owners of the VAZ 2106 do not have such an option.

The Togliatti “Zhiguli” clearly surpass the Izhevsk ones in the quality of assembly and components. On the “six” with the clutch pedal depressed, the release bearing howls lingeringly - there was no grease. Judging by the sound, he will not survive until the first MOT. In the background, a soft batch of the main gearbox is heard. True, with such a hype, many cars painlessly drive tens of thousands of kilometers.

The five are quieter in the cabin than in the VAZ 2106. Alas, even the additional factory noise insulation glued to the hood did not save her. It is likely that the extra decibels get inside because of the exhaust system - the pipes fit on both cars normally, but the suppliers at VAZ and Izh-Avto are different.

Even when changing from one car to another, it is difficult to catch the difference in dynamics - the 1.45 and 1.6 liter engines accelerate the cars in approximately the same way. You feel some advantage of a larger motor when starting and pulling in preloads. In our experience, the characteristics of the domestic unit depend not so much on the volume as on the qualifications and integrity of the assemblers.

For some reason, the more high-torque VAZ 2106 engine was married with a four-speed gearbox. You feel the lack of a fifth gear even in the city. Already at 80 km / h the Six begins to roar disgustingly, and on the VAZ 2105 3 with the "five-step" it is quite comfortable to drive a hundred.

So, "five" or "six"? Perhaps, VAZ 2105 3. It is more reliable and, in my opinion, more comfortable than its relative from Izhevsk. In addition, the door of the "six" I pinched my finger. And if you can do without a car, I would completely refuse to buy. Although ten years ago I was very happy when a new “five” appeared in the family. You say, spoiled? No, rather changed. But the "Lada", unfortunately, as if frozen in time …

Some time ago, in Togliatti, they resigned from the former name of Zhiguli. In accordance with the new brand policy, all models are called "Lada", more precisely, Lada. For example, Lada 2105, Lada Samara, etc. It is not easy to immediately switch to the Latin alphabet, and still not confuse the “sevens” with different engines or “Samaras” with different bodies. For clarity, we will adhere to the old digital indexes for the time being, all the more so according to the Lada documents, VAZ 2105 3 remains.
