When repairing electrical wiring in a car, you have to connect the wires. The best connection gives, as you know, soldering (a), but it is subject to corrosion. To avoid it, I protect the connection with Movil, and on top with shrink cambric. The result is one hundred percent tightness. But there is another enemy - vibration. It can only be resisted by a wire, additionally fixed with electrical tape, a clamp, etc., on the body, a wiring harness near the place of soldering. Otherwise, twisting is preferred (b) - but also with protection according to my technology.
