But at some point you understand that the set was thought out, because it turned out clearly, without throwing. A kind of domestic "street", not a step to the side.
It’s a rare case when a specialist from a tuning studio shows the client the exact program, and the client silently unfastens the amount, marks the day on the calendar when he arrives at the car, and leaves … This time it happened. We started, as usual, with the motor. One hundred and fifty wanted to get strength, so the matter was not limited to one refinement of the “head”. Everything changed from the bottom: forged pistons and connecting rods, a new crankshaft - so the engine displacement began to exceed 1.7 liters. The cylinder head was finalized, where a pair of camshafts (intake - 12.7 mm and exhaust - 11.9 mm) and valves with oversized plates settled.
At the inlet, they put a 5-liter receiver with a thick sleeve of a low-resistance filter: the box was barely squeezed under the hood. But a solid improvement in dynamics was not long in coming. If before the car just broke off, now it starts, buzzing straightforward and creaking low-profile rubber.
We walked along the suspension: we installed Koni Sport rigid shock absorbers and shortened springs. To reduce the rolls, a spacer of the upper supports was built in, which is important, painted in red (the receiver and the head of the unit are also decorated). Why not yellow? Yellow is rumored to work much worse. And there’s nothing to say about green! We must go our own way.
Yes there! The SRT casts doubt on many statements and rules, but is convinced of a number of things. One of these axioms: a very important part in tuning is the wheels. In many ways, they determine the appearance of the car. The blue “ten” stands on the 17-inch BWA wheels shod in low-profile tires of dimension 215/40 in front and 245/35 in the rear. Advertising claims that these wheels not only look spectacular, but also provide decent handling.
Wheels are wheels, and a beautiful (quite appropriate word, we venture to say) body kit makes the car. Original, catchy and, importantly, harmonious. This "ten" is no longer like a "pregnant antelope". ASV brand plastic was bought in the kit, for fear of difference in the "selection of suitable components." It consists of a wide bumper a la WRX with two large headlights, sills, arch extensions and a rear bumper. For greater external sportiness (why not be shy), the Aeroblade adjustable rear wing was attached to the trunk. Although the current speed capabilities of the “dozens” deserve a more “working” part …
The cabin is entirely non-standard. The regular steering wheel gave way to a tuning one - convenient and compact. We also changed the standard handle of the box. Simoni Racing aluminum trim has taken root on the pedals. Remote devices - this is also an integral feature of a well-tuned car. Inside, there is a tachometer, an oil temperature gauge and a voltmeter.
And even if all this is just one of the army of “dozens” set up, but, on the other hand, the outlined refinements cannot be called stenciled.
