Crankcase gases, burned in the engine cylinders, mainly go along the highway, where the idle control is located. This is a fairly simple device, in which a conical needle sets the required air supply to the cylinders along the channel, bypassing the closed throttle. Neither give nor take the needle "quantity" of the autonomous system of idling in the long-known carburetor "Ozone"! But unlike the latter, the regulator needle finds the correct position according to the commands of the computer (electronic control unit) - and it is important that nothing interferes with it. Layering of foreign products on the needle cone and especially the threaded rod disrupt the delicate operation of this mechanism, which is why the idling becomes unstable or even disappears. The simplest thing is to replace the regulator, which many do. But there is an alternative - to rinse it competently, so that it serves more.
We act like this. After warming up the engine to operating condition, in normal idle mode, disconnect the regulator plug and immediately turn off the engine so that the computer does not have time to react by turning on the CHECK ENGINE lamp (otherwise, then it will have to be “turned off”, wasting time). The controller will remain in the position corresponding to idling - about 32–34 steps of the program “wired” in the computer. If you turn off the motor with the regulator working, the needle will return to its original position of 120 steps, and most of the dirt on the stem will hide inside the regulator! We have everything in sight.
Now you can remove the throttle pipe. Disconnect the gas cable, wires and hoses. At the same time, we will not forget to turn it off, and at the end of work, screw the cap on the expansion tank back! Muffle the removed hoses with old spark plugs.

First flush the regulator by dismantling it from the nozzle (photo 1). The well-known “carburetor cleaner” should not get inside, so we hold the regulator with the needle down! When the washing liquid dries, we cover the rod again with silicone spray grease (photo 2). Then we flush the throttle branch pipe, the flap of which is completely open - a maximum of deposits accumulates on its edge. Particular attention is paid to cleaning and washing the openings of the small crankcase ventilation circuit - its diameter is only 1.5 mm. Do not leave dirt in the bypass air duct of the idle speed regulator either!
