At the wheel sometimes you don’t even guess where the road will lead. Road signs come to the rescue. But do they always cope with this crucial task?
The driver who drove from St. Petersburg on the Moscow highway will be much surprised. In photo 1 - a sign that he will meet first: everything seems to be clear. However, having traveled literally a couple of hundred meters, he meets another sign (photo 2). As they say, find the differences! The first suspicion creeps in when comparing the spellings of the cities of Tver and Moscow in Latin letters: "Have I really found myself in another country?" And then you find confirmation of this ridiculous, at first glance, assumption: for some 200 meters of the way, the distance to Novgorod and Tver … increased by 74 kilometers! I am glad that at least the capital remained in place. How not to recall the stories of airplanes lost in time and space! Although in relation to the unfortunate road workers, for some reason, the proverb about a mad dog comes to mind, for which, as you know, seven versts is not a hook.

At the entrance to the capital of Tatarstan, our reader met a new settlement with a strange name (photo 4). Well, Yaroslavl traffic cops completely gave up, signing their own powerlessness in the fight against accident rate. And in order not to sit idle, they took up “related” business: they offer potential victims of road accidents … funeral services (photo 5). Fortunately, police officers reasoned on time and removed the lower pointer.
