About how to illuminate the nooks of the car, we have repeatedly told. Today we offer another option - to use high-brightness fibers for this purpose. Their advantage is the consumption current of about 60 mA versus 5 A for incandescent lamps and tiny sizes. The first allows you to not additionally load the car's electrical system, and the second - to integrate the lamp anywhere. There are many LEDs on sale. On the radio market they are sold complete with a resistor (it is connected in series) at 1 kOhm, but it is better to pick it more precisely. The calculation is simple:
R = (Ua - Uд) / Iд (Ohm), where
Ua is the voltage in the on-board network (15 V can be taken);
Ud - operating voltage of the LED;
Id is the current of the diode.
The last two parameters can be found in the directories or from the seller.
The power of this resistance is calculated by the formula:
WR = (Ua - Ue).Id (W).
