Many are familiar with the feeling that comes when, getting used to a new motorcycle, I want to experience it and myself in new situations. So a few years ago, having rolled into the city rhythm on the Yamaha Fazer, I noted with sadness that the mileage still does not reach the values worthy of a real motorcyclist. And he decided that it was time to go somewhere further than in the Moscow region for barbecue. After one and a half thousand kilometers south to the nearest seaside resort, it became clear that the device, perfectly adapted for “cutting through” city traffic jams, was, to put it mildly, out of place: it lacked power, frame rigidity, exchange rate stability, I - comfort. Yes, and luggage constantly strove to move out from under the net stretched over the trunk. But here's what else I realized on the trip: tourism is mine. And he began to purposefully pick up a new motorcycle - the one that "from birth" is adapted for long trips.
I liked the FJR1300 right away. First, Yamaha is already a recommendation. Secondly, in all reviews of motorcycles in the press, he was in first place in the sport-tourist category (and the prefix "sport" was very important to me). The price compared to the "classmates" from Honda and BMW is relatively moderate. True, there was a catch: in the basic package, neither wardrobe trunks, nor a handle heating system, nor ABS were needed, without which it was somehow not easy to brake a loaded machine weighing under half a ton … While trying on BMW for test drives in Germany and polled with passion holders of Honda Pan European about their impressions, it took half a season. And then everything was decided by itself: at the beginning of this year, the FJR1300A was delivered to Russia (the letter “A” means that it is a version with ABS), and I took it … I told a long history of searching for “my own” version so that they could understand what was driving me. After all, others experience the same torment.
In March-April, while the snow was falling, I carefully ran the motorcycle (up to 1, 600 km), carried out proper maintenance, and on May holidays, when I was rushing along the road to St. Petersburg, I unscrewed the throttle stick for the first time for the first time …
The season is behind, the motorcycle is in winter storage (on the counter - 12, 000 km). What was he like? Did it bring what I expected?
