Motorcycle manufacturers are now “stamping” new models at such a speed that, having bought a motorcycle in the morning, in the evening you risk staying with an outdated model. And go chase the fashion! As soon as you moved from the "classic" to the chopper, as you already look at it - to a streetfighter, got a little distracted by pokatushki on mini-bikes, how prestigious it became to ride super-mottars …
And how pleasant it is to sit in the saddle of a true classic bike after this fidget. Its motor does not hide behind carbon fiber “vests”, “ears” of the mirror are not pressed bashfully to the fuel tank. The old pendulum rests on two shock absorbers, and in front there is one, but a large headlamp!.. What, salivations flowed? That's not all.
The size of the XJR is just as solid, but it is "not obese." You look - the mass! However, everything is useful. Khilyak will not approach him, not everyone can do it. In Japan, not everyone will be trusted to drive such a motorcycle, but only to someone who can lift it without outside help … To be precise, it’s 224 kilograms of “live weight” and 1115 mm in height “at the withers” … Is it not big for me - a person of average height? I did not perform the bench press exercises - I tried it my own way: I sat in the saddle, lowered my legs to the ground - I keep my balance. Good for you!
The elevated steering wheel and the “correct” arrangement of the steps are the continuation of the “classics” that are so dear to my soul. Started up, stuck the gear, released the clutch lever - and 1300 “cubes” of the engine smoothly moved the motorcycle from its place. He is like a tamed elephant: there are so many potions, but calm and obedient, at least at low speeds. I did not expect … More often it happens in a different way: engines of gigantic volume are very difficult to control on the “bottoms”, it does not always work out smoothly - and driving around the city turns into a nightmare.
But the gearbox is rude. The justification for her is that, in my opinion, it is impossible to make a mistake on switching or lose the “neutral” when stopping. Unless in the first hours of searching for understanding with a motorcycle, the left leg was looking for “neutral” longer than it should be. And my eye didn’t help her - the neutral warning light is not visible: the control lamps on the instrument bed are hidden behind an excessively tinted glass - and you can’t make it out in a cloudy sky, it’s on, it’s off … The motorcycle thrust is unusually strong, only such dynamics can be controlled the pilot who owns not just good - filigree gas handle control technology.
