CITYROVER
The popularity of compact cars in Europe does not fall. On the contrary, rising fuel prices, traffic congestion, and finally, environmental self-awareness - all these factors contribute to increased sales of small cars.
The British firm Rover decided to invade this niche. In collaboration with the Indian Tata, using the Indica model platform, they created the City Rover city car (the British write CityRover in one word). Since one of the most important characteristics of such a model is the price, the new product will be released in India, but, according to the British, according to the Rover design and quality standards.
City Rover will compete with Ford-Ka, Volkswagen-Lupo, Opel-Aguila. Starting price for Europe is 9, 400 euros. So far only a five-door version will be produced, but in four versions: Solo, Sprite, Select and Style.
In the simplest "Rover" of the "bells and whistles" there is only an airbag for the driver, a clock, a lockable "glove box" and wipers with stepless adjustment. Not much. But the "Style" for 12, 200 euros is equipped with a very rich. Marketers of the company substantiate the hopes for the success of the model by the fact that the City Rover is closer to the more expensive cars like the FIAT-Punto and Renault Clio.
The wheelbase of the car is 2400 mm, relatively high seats, doors swinging open 90 °, guarantee convenience for the driver and passengers. And luggage can be loaded from 220 to 610 liters, using the capabilities of the transformation of the cabin.
