IMPORT SHOCK ABSORBERS
TAKE A STAND
MAXIM NETS
Driving a naughty car is as difficult as an unrootted stallion. Often it is possible to tame the iron horse by changing worn shock absorbers. Imported, despite fairly high prices (foreign products are about 2-3 times more expensive than domestic ones), they are in great demand.
The table below shows the markings of the most popular and affordable shock absorbers. In terms of mounting dimensions, they are completely interchangeable with domestic ones. For cars with a front suspension of the McPherson type (front-wheel drive models VAZ and Moskvich) they offer replaceable cartridges that are inserted into the body of an old rack.
If comfort is especially important to you, then you should opt for hydraulic (oil) shock absorbers. Fans of fast driving and stiffer sport suspension should choose a suitable kit among gas-filled ones. They are approximately 20-30% more expensive.
A kit for a Zhiguli, Niva or Volga will cost 1, 500–4, 000 rubles, depending on the manufacturer and model of shock absorbers. A pair of front cartridges for Samara and Moskvich-2141 costs 1, 400– 2, 400 rubles, and the owners of VAZ 2110 will have to pay 10–15% more. At about the same price, you can buy rear shock absorbers for front-wheel drive models.
About "Oka" remembered only the company "Monroe". For the cheapest Russian cars, it produces only gas-filled shock absorbers. For two front cartridges (catalog number MG886) they ask 1600–2000 rubles, rear ones (designation 22701) - a little more expensive. For the rest of domestic cars, especially VAZs, there is a wide choice - in addition to the parts listed in the table, you can buy more sophisticated ones. But keep in mind that such products are intended, as a rule, for specially trained cars and drivers.
