Everyone wants to be different from the others - well, at least in the manner of dressing, wearing one or another hairstyle, clothes. Yes, you never know what else.

The car is no exception. Giving it individuality involved tuning companies. Each of the eminent has its own love and affection for the products of a particular automobile company.

The German "Irmscher" (Irmscher) works with "Opel". In 1968, Gunter Irmscher, a young race car driver, when he opened his own business, sold his rally Opel-Cadet for the sake of this. Love for the brand, knowledge of the technical features of its models helped Gunther to become the official Opel tuning studio, and not just the name Irmscher, but the Opel i-line appeared on the nameplates, which meant that the plant’s designers approved the changes.

WITHOUT PLASTIC OPERATIONS

The smallest of the “Opels” - the “Corsa” model, after the specialists of the Irscher worked with it, added sportiness primarily in appearance. The first thing that catches your eye and distinguishes it from the base model is the front spoiler and the original shape of the door sills, painted in body color. But black, carbon-fiber-reinforced, decorative panels on the racks give a special elegance to the look. Thanks to them, the side glazing looks like a single whole, a single smooth line of the roof is emphasized. At the back of the Kors, nothing seemed to have changed, except that a shiny stainless steel trim appeared on the top of the bumper facing the trunk, and a small spoiler in body color violated the roundness of the shapes above the rear window.

The gas tank flap received a sticker “a la sport”. From the side it is very impressive, but when the hatch had to be thrown back for refueling, its fakeness caught my eye.

However, the main thing in any car with a sports bias is the wheels. It is they who judge the determination to enter the fray with speed. In the design of the wheels of our "Corsa" there is no pronounced aggressiveness. But it is clear that the tires on the fifteen-inch (versus 14-inch on standard cars) alloy wheels of the Spectra with a large “i” in the center will provide it with the best ride quality.

COMPLIANCE WITH THE CONTENTS

Everything is good in moderation. Put real sports seats on the little Corsu, and there will be a bust. After all, whatever one may say, the motor remains the same - 1.2 liters, 75 liters. pp., the transmission is native, that is, a manual transmission with automatic inclusion. It is difficult to achieve sporting results with such baggage. But at the Irmsher they did not set such tasks for themselves. The main thing is to give the car an individuality.

And for this, it is quite possible to limit the installation of a sports-looking steering wheel with metallized inserts in the upper and lower parts, introduce a metal edging of the center console, decorate the white brake lever with the white metal and the gear selector.

Aluminum perforated pedals are also available on request. In my opinion, in a car with automatic switching and two pedals, this would be vulgar. Here for modifications with more powerful power units, say, with a 1.8 liter engine with a capacity of 125 liters. with. with a manual, three aluminum pedals would look natural.

Meanwhile, in the interior of the tuning "Corsa" there are little things that give the baby a special charm. For example, aluminum oval-shaped door lock buttons with two rubber bands to prevent fingers from slipping. Or door sills - made of stainless steel with stamped “i Corsa” lettering. For the convenience of the driver, the Irscher installs a central armrest made of genuine leather over the hand brake lever. In the cavity of the armrest, you can put some trifle. The armrest itself is comfortable when driving, however, to use the handbrake, you need to get used to it. But the car still drives more than it stands still, and therefore the appearance of the armrest is a clear plus.

TO THE BREATHING SOUND OF THE PIPE

Impressions from the ride in the “Corsa” from the “Irscher” are quite contradictory. Outwardly, everything suggests that the car is sports and you have the right to expect appropriate dynamic qualities from it. However, the sportiness of the appearance is not supported by engine responses. The steering wheel is a little cottony, you also expect more information from it. However, it is worth emphasizing once again that this was not the task of the tuners.

But pleased with the finalization of the exhaust tract. The original "Irmsher" muffler does not snap sharply, sporty, but at the same time, the issue has a character. And it is worth opening the window to hear the voice of not a boy, but a husband.

The total cost of tuning our car was $ 4122 (to the existing $ 11, 600). Although one can refuse something. To emphasize their individuality, half the amount mentioned would be enough. In the “my” version, these would be a front spoiler, alloy wheels, decorative pillar panels, door sills and center console, door lock buttons - and, of course, a silencer.
