The new injection pump has a plunger stroke of 2 mm more, nozzles now with reduced moving masses and five nozzle openings. The result is Euro II compliance and a specific fuel consumption rate of 194 g / kWh.

Casting and power scheme of the cylinder block are changed. Separate block heads are gradually replacing a single one, which means that it will be easier to literally change the gasket. Previously, when repairing in the parking lot, three truckers were going to throw off the head from the studs, and this was to the detriment of work …

The lubrication system is also completely redesigned - now it has a full-flow water-oil heat exchanger, a single-section oil pump and an improved oil filtration scheme - one or two full-flow cardboard filters can stand. But they left the well-deserved centrifuge - about 30% of the flow passes through it and merges into a pallet. An oil change is now needed less often, after 25-30 thousand km.

The fan drive lock is already frictional, as on Ikarus or Americans, only with electro-hydraulic control. This means that there will be less noise from the fan, the cold engine will warm up faster, the thermal regime will stabilize and fuel consumption will decrease. Water pump with increased productivity and with more convenient belt tension adjustment with an additional roller.

The connecting rods, liners, pistons are changed, the torsional vibration damper appeared on the front toe of the crankshaft. FIVE TWO - NINE?

Transmission Yaroslavl transmission to the flange of the secondary shaft of the gearbox. The clutch is single-disc with a driven disc diameter of 430 mm and, finally, with a diaphragm pressure spring. Box YaMZ-239 - a new development of Yaroslavl - withstands the moment up to 250 kgf.m. So there is a reserve. The main gearbox is a five-speed, planetary demultiplier doubles the number of gears (5x2 = 10), but there are only nine. Where did you get another one? The first gear without a synchronizer and turning it on on the top row of the demultiplier will not work - it will “lick” the teeth. And in order not to try, they introduced a power-on lock.

But there is also a revolutionary novelty - the flywheel housing with dimensions according to the SAE1 standard and the flywheel itself under the Saks clutch. So, you can dock an import gearbox, for example, ZF or Eaton, to YaMZ-7511. Cardan shafts are still Italian, but will soon switch to Belarusian from Grodno, they are cheaper and not bad. Transfer case - Italian two-stage with exits to the front and middle axles. Changing it (as well as bridges) to the domestic one will not work - there are still no decent ones. The main gear is a double diversity - hypoid and planetary wheel gears. The reducer of the middle passage bridge, with the locking of the interaxle differential, in addition, the inter-wheel differentials of the bridges of the truck are also blocked. Wheel reducers also stand on the front axle, and double crosses in the steering knuckles are cheap and reliable.

FOREIGN STEEL STRONGER?

Rama is transported from Italy, she is from IVECO EuroTracker. In Miass, other brackets are placed on it for the engine and towbar. It’s difficult to do your job technologically, moreover, Italian steel is stronger. But it is possible that only spars will be transported from Italy, and traverses and brackets will be bent here at UralAZ.

The front suspension is interesting - parabolic springs (three ski-like leaves) are connected to the frame brackets through the fingers and … silent blocks. And this is on a machine with a gross weight of 33 tons! In Russia, springs on silent blocks are located only on the Gazelle and Bychka, that is, on small trucks. But the brackets of the front shock absorbers had to be strengthened - otherwise they burst. On the front and middle axles - anti-roll bars. The rear suspension is balanced, its rocker rods are also on silent blocks. While the springs are Italian, but perhaps later they will be made at the metallurgical plant in Chusovskaya.

Steering gear ZF with integrated power steering, but the pump is domestic. Drum brakes, others probably don’t need a dump truck, but with ABS. The expanding mechanisms are wedge instead of the fists habitual for Russia. Power accumulators are installed on the middle and rear axles. It is strange to see plastic brake tubes on a Russian car: during welding, one drop of hot metal will easily burn through the entire beam.

The tipper is mounted on a stretcher. It is entirely domestic, a bucket body with rear unloading and heated exhaust gases is made in Yuzhno-Uralsk according to the "patterns" of the famous Bamovskiy "Magirus". There is another version of the body - it is larger and a little "square".

RESOURCE FROM MAGIRUS

It seems that today the Russian rivals of UralAZ have no such cabin. Unless in Belarus, at MAZ. They are similar in appearance - recognizable style of the 70s. Although the cabin has been letting out in Miass for almost 10 years, there are still a lot of Italian-German inside: a dashboard, air-suspended seats, a steering wheel with switches, a pedal block, and a sleeping bag (with a short cabin, operators are reluctant to even take dump trucks). Despite the power of the Eberspächer dry autonomous system, the cabin was glued with polyethylene foam - excellent thermal insulation was obtained. Gradually establish their own manufacture of upholstery for doors, walls and ceilings, but for now it’s imported on parts of cars. But looking at domestic upholstery, you understand that it is too early to refuse to import here.

FROM PLACE - TO CAREER

If the machine will work under multi-caliber changers, the key, to transmit as a baton, will have to be tied to a technical standard. Despite the solid size of the cab, there is little space for the driver and passenger. The space eater is the engine tunnel, it was made under the KXD ten-cylinder air vent, so it extends from the front to the rear of the cab and is piled half a meter above the floor. And on it is an impressive gear lever with a KAMAZ knob and a demultiplier control key. By the way, the top row of gears engages hard - a clear sign of inconsistency in the kinematics of the drive and gearbox. True, in Yaroslavl they promise to supply a new gearbox with an air booster in the drive, then it will be easier.

An excavator is already buzzing. I turn on the rear and customize the dump truck under his toothy bucket. It took five minutes to load and the body with a slide is filled with rock. Now we need to get out of the quarry. I touch the first one, immediately turn on the second and, having slightly dispersed, already on the third crawl up. The motor pulls well and is not particularly annoying with noise. Having got out, I accelerate to 50 km / h. It’s impossible to go faster - ups, crossings, turns. And here is the end point of the route - the bunker of a stone-crushing factory. The lift easily overturns the body; there is not even a drop of oil on the hydraulic cylinder. We must take a look at what we brought there. Nice bunch! By the way, in the century before last a gold nugget weighing two pounds was found in these places, and malachite is not measured here.
