JEEP RANGLER RUBICON
This version of this jeep is not for easy ways and not to be pushed on the floor. “The strongest“Wrangler of all time”- such slogans were filled with advertising brochures. And the time of the appearance of the novelty was chosen very well - just in time for the 50th anniversary of the victory of Jeep-Ramborey in the most difficult trial Rubicon.
Ground clearance increased by 13 mm thanks to specially designed large-diameter tires with a toothy tread extending onto reinforced sidewalls. Alloy wheels are made with inwardly concave needles to protect them as much as possible from damage by stones. The developers considered the power of the 4-liter “six” and the capabilities of the standard “five-step” quite worthy of the Rubicon version. But the transfer case was redesigned - Rock-Trac with a chain (!) Front axle drive received a gear ratio of 4.10 instead of 2.72. In combination with the new Tru-Lok lockable differentials on the front and rear (and there is no axle at the “Wrangler” at all) this makes the car truly unstoppable, albeit slowly, but surely creeping toward the target. The locks are activated by a button on the instrument panel, and smart automation will veto at speeds above 16 km / h.
The "armor" sheet from below and powerful sills made the car heavier by a centner - the company guarantees that the protection can easily withstand impacts even on rocky ground. In general, the only thing that can stop the Rubicon is its powerful brakes, which, unlike the basic version, are made disc on all four wheels.
Although a true professional will never refuse to manipulate the gear lever, American roots have made themselves known: the Rubicon is also equipped with an automatic machine. But now it has become 4-speed, and the basic version so far (!) Has managed three gears.
In general, the Rubicon would be a good present (worth $ 25, 000) to fans of the trial everywhere, if … all 8, 000 copies were not intended for sale exclusively in the United States, Canada and Mexico.
