Injection today is adjacent to the carburetor in much the same way that once color TVs coexisted with black and white. Masters of different generations invariably swore, but mastered a new capricious technique: repair is a sacred thing. And in some cases it is simply impossible without special equipment.
The STM-4 tester scanner of the A-2 LLC company’s Ulyanovsk company is mainly intended for those craftsmen who have already matured morally to the need of “injector educational program,” but have not yet earned full-fledged STM-2 equipment. The dimensions of the "baby" are six times smaller than that of the "older brother", but its real capabilities are enough for the eyes. It covers the entire range of injection controllers for VAZ, GAZ and UAZ engines, allowing you to read a dozen of the main parameters of the control system, adjust the CO level and adjust the ignition timing (for example, to switch to gas equipment). The 2x8 character indicator, of course, is not as convenient as 2x16, but the appearance of terms like “param” instead of “parameter” can be forgiven on the screen.
For the sake of maximum cost reduction, the developers abandoned traditional cases, handbags, sets of connecting cables, etc. The wires were left at a minimum: two power and one signal, connected to the K-line of the controller. And since there are different diagnostic connectors with different pin shapes on domestic cars, several jumper nozzles are connected in series. There is another jumper - especially for those old VAZs on which the cable plug of the immobilizer just hung in the air: the K-line is broken and it needs to be "shortened". Otherwise, no tester can work.
