"ROVER-75 TOURER"
Messages that the Rover brand will go into oblivion, and instead cars will be sold under the name MG, were only rumors. A good compromise was found - both brands coexist peacefully. "Rover", as before, produces models 25, 45 and 75, and "GM" specializes in their "charged" counterparts.
In the spring, despite the unstable financial situation and the change of owners, the company finally mastered the long-awaited wagon based on the most popular model 75 in the UK. The Rover 75 Tourer and its twin brother MG X11 will have to fight against serious competitors such as " Audi A4 Avan ", BMW 3 Series" Touring "and" Volvo V40 ".
One of the interesting features of the English model is glass that opens independently of the fifth door. However, the “Rover” contrasts its competitors with enviable roominess (trunk - 680 liters) and aristocratic appearance; judging by the technical parameters, the running capabilities of the station wagon are also good. The high rigidity of the body (20, 000 N.m / city - an indicator if not a record, then certainly worthy) made it possible to give a sporty aftertaste to handling. Add here the Nivomat rear suspension, which, regardless of the load, keeps the ground clearance unchanged, and you get a “driver's car”.
1.8 l (88 kW) and 2 l (110 kW) motors can occupy a place under the hood; the most powerful today has 2.5 liters of working volume. And by next year, the "riders" will face a real surprise: "GM" promises to launch production of modifications with eight-cylinder engines with a capacity of 141 and 204 kW!
