Trial batches of galvanized parts (for hidden body cavities) were installed on Oda last summer, and since the beginning of March of this year, all mass-produced machines of this brand have already received zinc protection. The metal is made by galvanizing and comes from a plant in the city of Lysva, Perm Region. By the way, it is mainly the Novolipetsk plant, which uses less modern hot dip galvanizing technology, that supplies it to the VAZ “ten”.
The entire anti-corrosion program of Izhmashavto is divided into three stages. The first has already been implemented (indicated in gray in the figure), the second will end in September this year (blue in the figure), and the third - galvanizing of the bottom - should be completed before the end of the year. This is left last, as the bottom is well protected against corrosion and without additional processing. Upon completion of the entire galvanizing program, the cost of the car will increase by only 1, 600 rubles.
But this is not the end of the matter. The plant is negotiating with Vaxoil to cover the body parts on the conveyor this year with an additional anti-corrosion compound, as GAZ does.
Will the owner need to spend money on the Oda anticorrosive? Factory experts say that the service life of the treated body will increase by 2-3 times.
