Before us are three cars: the VAZ 2108 3, the Uzbek "Daewoo Nexia GLE" and "KIA Avella Delta" from Kaliningrad. Everything differs from the basic models, and the price of non-standard equipment and installation works does not exceed $ 4.5 thousand. Let's see what tuning companies managed to do within the framework of these financial constraints.

Let's start with the foreigners. For a spoiled foreign buyer, the Daewoo Nexia is a cheap car of an obsolete design. For our drivers, on the contrary, a solid and spacious family sedan with a claim to solidity. According to many, it is worth the money, and this is almost $ 11 thousand. Still - at the Nexia plant they are equipped with a power steering, air conditioning, radio, electric windows. To create something sports-frivolous on the basis of such a car makes no sense. Another thing is to add charm, comfort, solidity. This is exactly what they did in the specialized technical center "Parity". The body received several hinged parts; new seats and leather upholstery appeared in the cabin. But the mechanics improvements are minimal - instead of the standard ones, gas-filled Kayyaba shock absorbers are installed.

Cosmetic changes in appearance fell to Nexia's face - she began to look more modern. It is nice that when installing plastic elements, the creators showed a sense of proportion. There are few attachments; they are carefully painted and tightly fitted. A good impression is also made by the interior, successfully complemented by the Recaro seats, which are soft, comfortable and have an impressive seating position. True, their mounting points are higher than standard ones, which has its pros and cons. On the one hand, visibility has become better. On the other hand, the steering wheel lies almost on the driver’s lap, and a tall person runs the risk of resting his head on the ceiling.

On the go, the refined Nexia is as comfortable as the standard. However, thanks to the new shock absorbers, it heels less in corners and easily swallows potholes. The element of this car is a quick ride along direct suburban highways and moderately calm movement around the city. That is - normal operating conditions. Dashing maneuvers on the routes full of bends are, alas, contraindicated. In critical conditions, the car shows a tendency to demolish the front axle. When trying to overcome a steep turn at high speed, the tires indignantly peep. The driver with racing inclinations “Nexia” will not cause delight, but a respectable person who wants his car to be different from the others will like it.

The standard KIA Avella Delta has a rather ridiculous appearance: the wheels are too small with a disproportionately high roof. True, there is a substantial supply of space above the passengers ’head, but on the whole the cabin is narrow and cramped. But the owners will appreciate the spacious trunk. Before us is a child of compromise - a typical city car. In the asset he has - a gearbox with correctly selected gear ratios and a high-torque one and a half liter engine with a capacity of 88 liters. with. (for Nexia with the same working volume - 75 l. from.). We decided to emphasize these advantages in the tuning center of the Vista company. Instead of standard 13-inch tires, Avella received 15-inch (!) Wheels on expensive BBS alloy wheels. Established front seats gave way to sports "boats" of the company "König". The factory shock absorbers were replaced by Coney Special.

Where did awkward proportions go? With the new “shoe” the car looks completely different: Cinderella “Avella” has turned into a stylish muscular strong man. Without a single, noticeable plastic patch. Tough, but very comfortable sports seats, along with the Italian Isotta steering wheel, are as if designed for the narrow interior of a Korean car. Now it resembles the cockpit of a racing car. Nimble and brisk "Avella" holds the road well. But its main hobby is excellent controllability, the ability to overcome complex bundles of turns. Although you have to pay for this loss of comfort - the suspension is much stiffer than the standard.

Modified KIA remained a small city car. But it is quite suitable for those who are not averse to drive and at the same time do not like to do repairs. The driver will actually feel like in a “ring” sports car behind the wheel of a serial, which means a reliable foreign car. It is a pity that others will not guess about it, which only beautiful big wheels will catch your eye.

VAZ 2108 3 does not need a detailed description. Its advantages and disadvantages are known. Chisel - for those who prefer an active driving style. The G8 is being redone, improved, and along the way, of course, eliminate factory defects. The same company, Vista, offers its customers a VAZ 2108 3, which fully meets the saying "a wolf in sheep's clothing." Appearance - like serial brothers, with the exception of wheels. Everything else has been modernized to one degree or another - brake system, suspension, gearbox, clutch, engine. Inside, there’s a new steering wheel, a gear knob and the familiar front seats of the König.

The advantage of a domestic car is that with much more sophisticated improvements, it will cost less than modified foreign cars of the same class, but it will be ahead of them in many respects. The finished engine of the G8 with a displacement increased to 1, 600 sms develops 90 liters. with. The maximum speed is higher, and the dynamic qualities are better than those of KIA and Daewoo. But nothing comes in vain - you have to start moving on the VAZ 2108 3 at 2500 rpm on the tachometer, otherwise the forced motor will simply stall. Michelin-Pilot SX tenacious tires and an upgraded suspension allow a skilled driver to work wonders: stability and handling are excellent. But the Kony Sport shock absorbers, together with the Aybah springs, turn it into a hard crusher, which not everyone agrees to ride.

The owner of such a G8, even if it is assembled perfectly, will not let go of a screwdriver and wrench. For it is a lifestyle. His portrait is not difficult to draw - a gambling racer with the makings of a designer, ready to endure inconvenience for the sake of speed and the opportunity to join motorsport. Note that often the initial object of such tuning becomes a used car, and this is a significant gain in price.

It turned out, modified cars (like production ones) are very different from each other. Nexia is by far the most comfortable, stylish, but also the most expensive. The urban pseudo-sportsman KIA Avella Delta is a good example of tuning at a reasonable price. Almost racing "eight" - the perfect "designer." The cost of alterations is comparable to the price of a car, but the result meets expectations.
