"TARZAN"

A new all-terrain vehicle appeared on the VAZ - a hybrid of Samara and Niva. An original custom car is waiting for its customers.

They tried to combine in one car the all-terrain Niva and the comfort of Samara, so that the “newborn” inherited the best parental traits in the pilot production of VAZ. Last summer, a new car, whose name is Tarzan, successfully passed certification tests and received the VAZ 2108 34 index (210934, 2109934). It is easy to guess that the body can be both "ninth" and "ninety-ninth." Cars are supposed to be assembled to order, and the client himself will choose which one to “charge” with all-wheel drive. There are no restrictions in imagination - you can collect "Tarzan" and with the appearance of the tenth family.

Such a wide selection was made possible thanks to the frame structure of the machine. The frame, having assumed all the loads, admits variations even on the theme of “convertible” with any of the attractive bodies - it is enough to cut off the roof.

The power unit, transmission and chassis are from the Niva VAZ 2121 3, but there are some peculiarities. Cardan shafts of a modified length, and most importantly - an independent rear suspension. It is assembled using parts from the front, therefore, on all wheels of the Tarzan there are disc brakes.

So much faster and cheaper than redesigning. In addition, a small series car has a personal suspension - extra efforts for the owner. The search for original spare parts for a possible repair would become much more complicated than the common Nivovskie ones.

The body adapted to the four-wheel drive chassis chassis matured noticeably, grew stout and lost its usual “chisel” outlines. Overhead plastic elements not only give solidity to the car, but also carry a functional load.

Widely spaced fifteen-inch wheels do not splash the body with dirt - they are reliably covered by extended arches. In the trunk - a full-size spare wheel. A niche of increased dimensions was equipped in a regular place - a high-raised body left her enough space.

"Native" wheel arches can now be reduced by cutting an extra volume to the trunk.

The delicate underbelly and sides of the Samara body are protected by powerful footsteps, chippers. They somewhat interfere with entry and exit, but comfort is sacrificed here for expediency. “Tarzan” is a free car, it doesn’t fit to be a prisoner of asphalt roads, but for freedom it is possible to “suffer”.

But let's see a novelty in business. Sitting in the "Samara" body, you involuntarily wait from the car for the appropriate behavior. In control, it is slightly heavier than the VAZ 2108, stiffer and its suspension. Nevertheless, the Tarzan runs easily and tenaciously holds the road. It’s more comfortable than the Niva. Noises and vibrations inherited from her are heard as if from behind a wall. All the "vibration elements" - the engine, "razdatka", cardan shafts - only shake the frame, and the body is connected to it using rubber pads. They absorb all the discomfort. Well, on smooth asphalt, any car is good, but after all, the advantages of this are in the “omnivorous”. We turn onto the primer, the traces of which are lost on a hilly plain after several kilometers. With the same confidence as he ran on the asphalt, the Tarzan vigorously makes its way through the bushes and tall grass. Maneuvering between trees on a slope, he easily climbs uphill and, well, he is not at all afraid of side slopes! The wide track securely holds the car on the slope, and the four driving wheels remove shavings from such gullies that Samara did not see in a nightmare. Of course, this is not a caterpillar all-terrain vehicle that can get through the taiga, but by no means the G8, which is cautiously moving off the asphalt. This is the real Tarzan!

Unlike Samara, there are three transmission control levers (two small ones are for “handing out”).

The engine is installed longitudinally and is much lower than in Samara.

The developed rear bumper and running boards hide a powerful frame underneath.
