"JAGUAR-XK8 COUPE"
Jaguar XK8 Coupe
Fifty years ago, in 1948, the Jaguar company introduced one of its most famous cars - the KhK120 two-seater coupe, which embodied the advanced design ideas of the post-war period. This model, like the XK-E, which appeared in 1961, became for those years the standard of a comfortable and at the same time high-speed car, suitable not only for normal driving, but also for automobile competitions.
In 1996, after a 20-year hiatus, Jaguar returned to the production of two-seater cars, which in general created glory for this brand. The heir to the old traditions of the Jaguar XK8 Coupe, unlike its predecessors, is simply a very comfortable, but not a sports car: today the gap between an ordinary car and a competition car is enormous. Participation in races now requires a radical alteration of the production model, up to the replacement of power units. At the same time, the XK8 is considered a good competitor to the Mercedes-Benz SL and SLC models and even the Porsche 911 as standard. "Jaguar" is somewhat cheaper, it differs in its original "cat" appearance, as well as in a special, unlike German style of trim in the traditional "Jaguar" spirit - leather and wood (or fakes for them) dominate here.
Focusing, apparently, on overseas buyers, the company offers only the Tsanradfabrik multi-mode automatic transmission, although most of these pseudo-sports cars are also equipped with manual transmissions.
The body of the new Jaguar may be open - with a soft top, but in this case it is 90 kg heavier and somewhat more expensive. Both bodies are 2 + 2.
